Curbside Pickup
Haulers are required to provide one free bulky item pickup per calendar year for Shawnee customers. Contact your hauler to learn more:
Homeowners Associations may have specific pickup times. Be sure to check with your HOA before scheduling a pickup. Residents are allowed five items for their curbside pickup. Accepted items include:
- Furniture
- Mattresses
- Most appliances (except refridgerators)
- Push lawnmowers (no fuel or oil)
- Carpet rolls (up to 4 feet long, weighing less than 50 pounds)
Prohibited items include construction materials, glass panels, latex or oil-based paint, tires, and automotive batteries. For questions about specific materials, contact your hauler.
Landfill Vouchers
The City of Shawnee also provides residents with a Landfill Voucher. The Voucher is included in the All Things Hometown Newsletter, which is mailed out in February. Residential customers can show their voucher, along with proof of residency, for one free drop-off at the landfill. The voucher is good for one carload, truckload, or U-haul (up to five cubic yards).
