Aquatics Positions Available:

Lifeguard: We’re looking for responsible and energetic individuals to join our aquatics team and help keep our pools safe and fun for everyone. As a lifeguard, you’ll play an essential role in maintaining a safe environment, enforcing pool rules, and responding to emergencies. No experience? No problem! We offer certification and training to get you ready for the job. The minimum age for this position is 15.

Concession Staff: We're looking for friendly and responsible team members to keep our concession stands running smoothly. In this role, you'll serve up snacks and drinks, provide great customer service, maintain a clean and organized workspace, and help keep inventory stocked. Pay for the Concession Staff position begins at $12.00 per hour. The minimum age for this position is 16.

Swim Instructor: In this role, you'll teach swimmers of all ages, from tiny tots to adults, helping them build confidence and skills in the water. You'll create a safe, fun, and engaging learning environment while keeping records and ensuring every lesson is a positive experience. Pay for the Swim Instructor position begins at $16.00 per hour. The minimum age for this position is 15.

Cashier: You'll be the first friendly face guests see, handling admissions and concessions with top-notch customer service. This role is perfect for building teamwork and cash-handling skills while keeping things running smoothly with accurate transactions and a well-stocked counter. Pay for the Cashier position begins at $11.00 per hour. The minimum age for this position is 14.

 
Summer Camp Positions Available:

Summer Camp Director: As Camp Director, you'll coordinate activities, supervise staff, and ensure a safe, engaging, and inclusive camp atmosphere. Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills are a must! If you have experience in camp or recreational management and love working with youth, this could be your perfect summer job. Pay for the Summer Camp Director position starts at $22.00 per hour. A high school diploma is required for this position. A bachelor's degree is preferred. 

Summer Camp Lead Counselor: Step into a leadership role where you’ll help guide a team, create exciting experiences for kids, and ensure a safe and welcoming camp environment. This position is perfect for someone who enjoys mentoring others, staying active, and bringing energy and creativity to every day. Pay for the Summer Camp Lead Counselor position begins at $18.00 per hour. A high school diploma is required for this position.

Summer Camp Counselor: We’re looking for energetic and creative individuals to help lead fun activities, build connections, and create a positive environment for kids this summer. This role is all about teamwork, leadership, and making lasting memories while ensuring a safe and engaging experience for everyone. Pay for the Summer Camp Counselor position begins at $15.00 per hour. The minimum age for this position is 16.

 
Parks Maintenance Positions Available: 

 

Seasonal Laborer: Spend your days outdoors and make a difference in Shawnee’s parks! We’re hiring Seasonal Laborers to help maintain and enhance our city’s green spaces from April to October. This hands-on role involves park maintenance, equipment care, and field repairs to keep our parks in top shape. If you enjoy working outside, being part of a team, and making a visible impact in the community, this is the job for you! Pay for the Seasonal Laborer Position begins at $16.00 per hour. A high school diploma is required for this position.

Park Technician: Help keep Shawnee’s parks and public spaces looking their best! This hands-on role involves maintaining parks, buildings, and medians throughout the city. While some tasks are team-based, many are carried out independently, making this a great fit for those who enjoy working outdoors and taking pride in their work. Expect regular interaction with the public, city staff, and other agencies as you help keep our community spaces safe and beautiful. Pay for the Park Technician position begins at $20.00 per hour for entry level and $22.00 per hour for experience. A high school diploma is required for this position.
