Celebrate the Holidays at Christkindlmarkt

Bring the Family Out to see Santa, reindeer... and much more!
Posted on 11/03/2021

The holidays will be in full swing in downtown Shawnee on Saturday, December 4. This annual holiday event is free and has something for the entire family to enjoy. The festivities get started at 3 p.m. at City Hall (11110 Johnson Drive) with REINDEER, live entertainment, face painters, kids' crafts, games and, most importantly,  Santa and Mrs. Claus will be here to hear your child's holiday wishes.

Stop in at our downtown Shawnee businesses while you are in the area to shop, grab a drink or bite to eat.

Make your way back to City Hall at 5:30 p.m. when Mayor Michelle Distler will be joined by Santa and Mrs. Claus to present the Mayor's Christmas Tree Fund to Shawnee Community Services and our local Special Olympics team, the Shawnee Storm. If you'd like to make a donation to the Mayor's Christmas Tree Fund, click here for more information. We'll cap off the night by lighting the Mayor's Christmas Tree!

Please note that we will be shutting down a stretch of Johnson Drive between Nieman road and King Street from 1:00 p.m.-7:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 4, 2021. There will be marked detours during the closure. People will be able to park around City Hall, at the Sister Cities Park and at Splash Cove.

We can't wait to see you all to celebrate Christkindlmarkt!
